How to make a product demo video
in four steps.

Step 1

Plan one story, not a tour

Most good demos come down to a few bite-sized ideas, roughly in this shape: a hook, the problem, three features, and a call to action to finish.

  1. Hook0–5 s

Something that makes people want the rest: the result your product gives, a bold line, or its most striking moment.

  2. Problem5–12 s

The slow or painful way people do it today, shown rather than explained where you can.

  3. Three features12–52 s

Three features in the order someone would use them, each one leading into the next.

  4. Call to action52–60 s

One clear next step, such as trying it free or booking a call, with your brand on screen.

  1. Step 2

    Record your product once

Open the Dranic extension on your site and press Record. Click through it the way a customer would. The camera moves in on each click, and your cursor stays smooth.

  2. Step 3

    Cut to the good parts

Cut the recording wherever you like and delete what you don’t need. The gap closes and the camera keeps its moments. Add one line of Text over each feature.

  3. Step 4

    Frame it and export

Set the recording in a browser window on a Background, with your hook and next step as Shots around it. Every cut animates by itself. Export an MP4 up to 1440p at 60 fps.

How long should a product demo video be?

Most product demos run 30 to 60 seconds. Only a demo with a lot to show needs more, and even then about 90 seconds is plenty. Attention runs out quickly, so cut anything that doesn’t move the story forward.

What goes in each moment?

  3. 12–52 sThree features

Three features in the order someone would use them, each one leading into the next.

Is it a screen recorder?

Yes. The Dranic extension for Chrome records your website, and it’s coming soon. Until then, you can upload a clip from any screen recorder.
